The Teen Residence/Homestay Program in Frankfurt is suited to the student who is looking for a high-quality language immersion program in the heart of a truly modern city! The program is ideal for students who want to combine daily German language classes with some pre-organized afternoon, evenings and weekend activities/excursions. Students will also have free time to explore Frankfurt, with the group or with their host family. The program is intended for students who may have very little to some travel experience, are comfortable taking public transit, are used to time away from family and are able to effectively manage and advocate for themselves in new and unfamiliar situations.

Location

Frankfurt is situated in the Rhine-Main region of central Germany and is just 4 hours away from major cities such as Paris, Hamburg, and Amsterdam. The school is located in Sachsenhausen, which is a charming residential area of Frankfurt.  The downtown core is just a short walk away via the Eiserner Steg or "iron bridge".  Frankfurt is home to the European Central Bank, and is affectionately referred to as "Main-hattan" by the local German population. Among other attractions are the Goethe house, many exciting festivals, the largest fairground in Germany as well as a stunning Korean temple.  If you are an avid shopper, Goethe Street boasts all major designer labels such as Tiffany and Chanel.  While Frankfurt poses as a major business center, it also hosts open-air cinemas, safe bicycle routes and countless parks. 

Program

Our Frankfurt summer program is hosted by one of Germany's leading private language schools. The school owns and fully occupies the 5th floor of a 13 storey building. Along with the courses, the students will enjoy many afternoon, evening and weekend excursions!

The stunning school facilities include:

Course

The Frankfurt Teen Program offers a dynamic course with an emphasis on verbal and listening skills to increase confidence and fluency.  Teachers use a combination of debates, games, role play, and grammar to help students succeed.  In addition, each day you will enjoy daily activities that allow you to take in the many sights and sounds of the city with your international classmates. Daytime activities include walking tours, shopping, museum visits, swimming and cycling; evening activities include movie nights, soccer, restaurants and garden parties. Entrance fees for museums, etc. are included in the price.

You will also enjoy 1 full day excursion every Saturday to places of significant interest such as Heidelberg, Weisbaden and Dusseldorf as well as countless castles and a monastery surrounded by some beautiful vineyards. 

Teachers

The teachers are all native German speakers and fully qualified to teach German as a foreign language. They bring a wealth of experience teaching at all levels and design each lesson to focus on speaking and listening skills with appropriate attention paid to reading and writing.

Accommodation

Residence

You can choose to stay on-campus in 2-4 bedded rooms, with shared bathrooms, 5 minutes on foot from the school. This residence has many things such as a cafe, restaurant, reading room, games room, and lounge. Males and females are accommodated separately.

Host family

You will be accommodated with welcoming hosts who are keen to share German culture with you.  Families come in all shapes and sizes from single adults (female) to couples with and without children. Most families live outside central Frankfurt between 5 and 30 minutes by bus, metro or bicycle.

Meals

The program includes three meals daily, breakfast, lunch and dinner, as follows:

• For residence students staying on-campus - you will eat both breakfast and dinner with your classmates at the school cafeteria. A packed lunch will be provided by your group leaders.
• For students staying with a host family - you will eat breakfast with your host(s) and dinner, and lunch will be with your classmates at the school cafeteria.
