We hope you'll never need it, but you would be crazy to leave home without it!

In fact, all of The Learning Traveller programs require that you purchase some form of medical & travel insurance prior to departure.

So, to make it easy we have included medical & travel insurance in all of our program packages*. 

This includes comprehensive medical coverage as well as trip interruption and cancellation insurance for up to $20,000 US!

Coverage is provided through STA Travel, underwritten by AIG Travel Guard (a division of AIG Travel Inc)

The insurance premium is already included in our published program fees so no extra payment is necessary.  However, if you would like to upgrade your policy to include the following enhanced options you may do so for the corresponding premium increase:

• Medical upgrade - provides for direct payment to hospitals, doctors or clinics so you are never out of pocket for medical expenses while overseas; premium increase of $
• Baggage Upgrade -  includes coverage for cell phones, PCs, cameras, personal electronic organizers and portable CD players; these are normally excluded from standard policies; premium increase of $
• Adventure Sports Upgrade - provides coverage for many adenture sports activities that would normally be excluded from standard policies; premium increase of $

*This coverage applies to travellers who begin their journey in either the US or Canada; travellers who begin their jouney outside of the US or Canada must purchase their own comprehensive medical and travel insurance and provide proof of this coverage to The Learning Traveller.  If you purchase your own medical and travel insurance policy we will reduce the total program fees by the premium rate that corresponds to the length of your program including travel days.
