Culture & Leisure Program

Paris offers a variety of cultural sights, entertainment and other leisure time activities. There are cafés, brasseries and restaurants, cinemas, theatres and concerts, as well as museums and galleries. If you would like to actively participate in Parisian everyday life, be sure to get out there and take advantage of every opportunity to speak French; in no time, you'll start to feel at home!

Paris is a surprisingly easy city to get around. You can explore it on foot but you can also experience it on roller blades and by bicycle. Just ask the school activity coordinator for information on rentals.

The school will organize optional, pay as you go, weekly visits to both well-known and not so well-known museums, buildings, monuments and neighborhoods. Here are just a few options with prices:

  • Marais quarter EUR 8
  • Rodin museum EUR 8 + entrance fee
  • Picasso museum EUR 8 + entrance fee
  • Wine museum EUR 8 + entrance fee
  • Paris City Hall EUR 8 + entrance fee
  • Catacombes EUR 8 + entrance fee
  • Opéra Garnier EUR 8 + entrance fee
  • Musée d’Orsay EUR 8 + entrance fee

In addition to afternoon and evening outings, the school will also organize full-day excursions on weekends to places of interest in and around Paris including:
  • Reims (cathédrale) et Epernay (vignes et cave-dégustation) EUR 100
  • Loire châteaux EUR 100
  • Versailles Château EUR 8 + entrance fee
  • Le Mont Saint-Michel (2 days) EUR 152

The school also organizes lecture, movie showings, cooking demonstrations and other cultural workshops on a regular basis. Many of these are offered at no charge and others are offered for a small fee.

This is a sample listing of activities and excursions and is subject to change due to conditions such as weather, availability and number of participants.
