Montreal Gap Year Program > Getting There
Getting to MontrealWhat airport should I arrive to? For the Montreal Gap Year Program, you should arrive to the Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport where you will be met by a school chaperone in the arrival's hall and taken to your accommodation. When should I arrive? You can arrive on either a Saturday or Sunday and depart on a Saturday. How can I get to Montreal from the US/Overseas? There are numerous direct flights between the US and Montreal. Here is a partial list of airlines (this list is by no means comprehensive so check with your travel agent for additional options): There are also numerous direct flights from overseas to Montreal. Here is a partial list of airlines (this list is by no means comprehensive so check with your travel agent for additional options): What if I'm not comfortable making an overseas flight connection at an international airport? This program is intended for the mature teen or young adult who is comfortable with a fair amount of independence and has had some previous overseas travel experience. If you are not comfortable travelling on your own in Canada, you and your parents may find the level of independence for this particular program to be too much. There may be other students travelling to Montreal on the same day as you and, if so, we can connect you via e-mail through our Travel Buddies system. We cannot guarantee this, however, so we ask that you be willing and prepared to travel alone. Can I fly as an Unaccompanied Minor? This program does not support students travelling as an Unaccompanied Minor. If you do not feel comfortable flying without this status we advise against enrolling in a gap year program. Please note: The Montreal Gap Year Program starts on a Saturday or Sunday and ends on a Saturday. You should plan to arrive/depart between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. We cannot guarantee accommodation availability for arrivals before Saturday or departures after Saturday. Also, there may be extra transfer charges if you arrive or depart outside of these days or the hours listed above.
