Program This specialized Italian language learning holiday program caters to people over 50. Our language and culture program is the ideal mix of language, art, culture and meeting your fellow students, who, like you, want to learn or improve their Italian and experience the many wonders of Rome. Mornings are reserved for Italian language classes which take place from 9 am to 12:40 pm. In the afternoons you can participate in cultural activities ranging from seminars, visits to local attractions, or cooking lessons. On the weekend you can participate in exciting excursions to nearby sites.Lessons The Rome 50 Plus Language Learning Holiday course focuses on using Italian in everyday situations. You’ll be learning to speak Italian quickly and will have numerous opportunities to use the language on activities, excursions, and of course, out on your own. A wide variety of up-to-date authentic material is used in class, where the main focus is on speaking and active learning rather than on passive receptivity. Teachers The teachers in this Italian language holiday program are native speakers and hold both a university degree and a diploma in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language. The school has several teachers who have been teaching in the school for an average of 10 years. One hour per week of each teacher's contract hours is devoted to teacher training in order to continually improve teaching techniques. This is reflected by the high level of professionalism and responsibility of the teachers towards the school and all the students. Accommodation The Rome 50 Plus Language Learning Holiday offers homestay family accommodation. Standard or Standard Plus accommodations are available. Standard Plus means the rooms are a little bigger and the accommodation is closer to the school.
