Program This Montpellier 50 Plus Language Learning Holiday program offers the perfect mix of French lessons and French culture, including exposure to cuisine, history, art, fashion and cinema. The program comprises 20 lessons and three half-day excursions to surrounding places of interest per week. Please see the sample schedule page for more information. Lessons The objective of this French course in France is to work on practicing language skills in communicative contexts. On the first Monday of the program, you will take both an oral and written placement test to determine which class you will be placed in. If you have no previous experience with the French language, you typically don’t have to take this test and will automatically be placed in the beginner class. Classes will take place between 9:00 am and 12:15 pm, Monday to Friday, including a short 15 minute break during which light refreshments will be served. Lessons are 45 minutes in length. Teachers Teachers in this French language learning program are native French speakers and are qualified to teach French as a second language. They bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the classroom and design each lesson to focus on speaking and listening skills with appropriate attention paid to reading and writing. Accommodation The recommended accommodation for the Montpellier 50 Plus Language Learning Holiday is with local host families. The accommodation officer rigorously selects each family and spends a great deal of time matching the student to the right family, which is why we appreciate as much information as possible from students regarding personality, likes and dislikes, etc. Host families are of all ages and social backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: their hospitality and friendliness. Depending in the meal option you choose, the host family will provide you with breakfast and/or dinner. *Host family accommodation is only the recommended accommodation option for this language holiday program. Alternatively, you may book the course only and arrange your own accommodation in local hotels or apartments. Please see the prices page for Course Only Fees.
