Getting There - Manuel Antonio Adult Program

What airport should I arrive to?

For the Manuel Antonio Adult Language Learning Holiday, you should arrive to the San Jose Juan Santamaria International Airport. We recommend that you plan to arrive into San Jose on the Saturday before your classes are scheduled to start and then plan to travel to Manuel Antonio on Sunday by bus.

Transportation from San Jose to Manuel Antonio by public bus is already included in the program fees. The public buses are not air conditioned; if you prefer an air conditioned coach you can travel on Interbus at a cost of $39 each way.  It takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours to reach Manuel Antonio.  If you are staying in a homestay, your host family will meet you at the bus station. If you are staying in a hotel you will take a taxi to your accommodation.

When should I arrive?

You should arrive into San Jose on Saturday and plan to stay overnight in a hotel and then travel to Manuel Antonio on Sunday. You should arrange to depart Manuel Antonio on Saturday or Sunday and fly out of San Jose that same evening or stay overnight in a hotel and fly home the next day.

How can I get to San Jose from the US/Canada?

There are numerous direct flights between the US/Canada and San Jose, Costa Rica. Here is a partial list of airlines that fly into San Jose Juan Santamaria International Airport (this list is by no means comprehensive so check with your travel agent for additional options):
